This 300 SE looks to be a European model with odd modifications for a US model.
As a 1962 neither the side markers nor the 1972+ running lights were required or originally came with the car. The "Export" double headlights are also believed to be replacements for the European lights this car originally was delivered with.
It is a very early Coupe, # 053 with what seems as a non-original 6plunger-iIP-motor and extensive under body Metal repairs done and new top and seat upholstery.
